Georgetown Track & Field Notches Multiple Top Finishes at Penn Elite Meet

WASHINGTON – Georgetown track & field concluded competition on Saturday, January 25, at the Penn Elite in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the Ott Center.

Penn Elite Results

Georgetown Men

3000: Freshman Van Furman led all GU runners, placing second with a time of 8:09.19. Tommy Shaw (5th) rounded out the top five finishers with a time of 8:12.20.
400m: Nicholas Givan (3rd) secured a top-three finish, running a time of 47.88, while Micah McKenzie took seventh with a time of 48.84.
1000: Gabriele Angiono took third with a time of 2:22.07, while Daniel McCarthy placed sixth, clocking in at 2:25.11.
800m: Alex Pelov nabbed a top-10 finish, recording a time of 1:51.06 that was good for sixth.
4x400 Relay: The team of Alex Lambert, Givan, McKenzie and Lucca Pizzimbono finished seventh with a time of 3:15.30.
Long Jump: Christian Dohler took eighth with a mark of 6.55m (21-06.00).
60m Prelim: Jackson McCusker placed ninth with a time of 6.92.
Mile: MacCallum Rowe placed 13th with a time of 4:06.42, while Quinn Parrish finished 23rd and Alazar Teffra took 31st.
200m: McCusker finished 18th with a time of 22.00 and Jordan James took 22nd with a time of 22.66.
60m Hurdles Prelim: Pizzimbono took 22nd with a time of 8.57.

Georgetown Women

200m: Jadah Fitzgerald finished eighth with a time of 24.56, while Ida Moczerniuk (9th) crossed the finish line just three hundredths of a second behind her at 24.59. Fitzgerald's time is the quickest among BIG EAST competition this season, while Moczerniuk's ranks third, according to TFRRS.
Mile: Barrett Justema captured third, running a personal best time of 4:38.72. Almi Nerurkar finished sixth with a time of 4:42.14, followed by Luci Lambert at 12th with a time of 4:48.55.
1000: Charlotte Tomkinson (2nd) was Georgetown's top finisher, recording a time of 2:42.26, while Charlotte Bell finished closely behind at third with a time of 2:45.45. Amalie Beil took 12th while Alli Cryster placed 15th.
60m: Moczerniuk finished the preliminary race in third place with a time of 7.44 seconds, before clocking in at 7.46 seconds in the final, which also secured her third place.
Long Jump: Tatum Cramer placed 12th with a mark of 5.32m (15-05.50).
800m: Mary Grace Hegberg secured 14th with a time of 2:11.23, followed by Victoria Ketzler (19th), Lambert (22nd) and Sally Binder (26th).
