Georgetown Women’s Lacrosse Downs Towson

Box Score WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women's lacrosse team (2-0) defeated the Towson University Tigers (1-2) 17-9 on Saturday afternoon at Johnny Unitas Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Anne McGovern opened the game with two-consecutive goals starting at the 8:05 mark. At the end of the first quarter the Hoyas led 4-0.
GU continued its scoring run into the second quarter. Betsy Burton, Reagan Ziegler, Sophia Loschert, and McGovern all scored to make the contest 9-3.
At the 13:32 mark of the third, Molly Davis scored a goal to make the game 10-3. Towson responded with a goal at the 12:28 mark of the third from Katie Roszko to make the game 10-4.
The Hoyas went on to score seven more to capture a 17-9 victory.

OF NOTE

The Hoya offense was led by McGovern with five goals.
Kendall Steer led the squad with three ground balls.
Gracie Driggs controlled the circle with six draw controls. Driggs had her 200th career draw control.
Leah Warehime had eight saves, posting a .471 save percentage.
The Hoyas outshot the Tigers 37-29.
