No. 2 Seed Georgetown to Face No. 1 Seed Denver in BIG EAST Championship

WASHINGTON – The second-seeded Georgetown University women's lacrosse team (12-5, 5-1 BIG EAST) will compete for the conference title against top-seeded No. 17 University of Denver on Saturday, May 2. The championship matchup is scheduled for a 3 p.m. ET (1 p.m. MT) draw at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.

WHAT'S AT STAKE
The winner of Saturday's contest will be crowned the 2026 BIG EAST Champion and receive the conference's automatic bid to the 2026 NCAA Tournament. Georgetown is seeking its first tournament title since 2019.

SERIES HISTORY
Denver has won nine of the last 10 meetings between the programs. However, the Hoyas hold a significant championship history against the Pioneers, having defeated Denver 9-8 in a double-overtime thriller to capture the 2019 BIG EAST title. This marks Georgetown's first appearance in the BIG EAST final since 2022.
