Georgetown Faces George Mason

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team is set to travel to and host the George Mason Patriots from Friday, March 6 to Sunday, March 8 in a three-game series. First pitch of the series is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Raymond H. "Hap" Spuhler Field.

  • Friday and Sunday's games will be hosted by George Mason, while the Hoyas will host the Patriots at Capital One Park on Saturday.

ABOUT THE HOYAS

  • In its last outing, Georgetown fell to the George Washington Revolutionaries, 10-9, at Tucker Field at Barcroft Park.
  • Graduate student JT Raab earned a nod to the 2026 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team after posting a team-best 3.63 ERA in 74.1 innings of action in 2025. The Seaford, New York native was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team in 2025.
  • On Monday, Kai Leckszas was named to the BIG EAST weekly honor roll. The senior struck out six batters to lead Georgetown to a 12-1 win over FDU on Friday, February 27 at Capital One Park.
  • Jeremy Sheffield leads the Hoya offense slashing .478/.556/.717 this season. The senior has notched 22 hits, 19 RBIs, six doubles, a triple, a home run and nine runs scored.
  • In his first time suiting up for the Hoyas, Connor Peek has had a standout performance slashing .419/.525/.558 in his first set of games. The graduate student has tallied 18 hits, three doubles, a home run, 14 RBIs and 17 runs scored.
  • Georgetown returns 22 players from the 2025 squad and has added 10 transfers and seven newcomers.
  • Head Coach Edwin Thompson enters his sixth season on the Hilltop. Thompson guided GU to its most successful season in program history in 2024 posting a 36-21 record marking three-consecutive 30-win seasons for the first time in program history. 

ABOUT GEORGE MASON

  • George Mason enters the contest with a 5-5 record following an 11-2 win over James Madison on Tuesday, March 3 in Harrisonburg, Virginia
  • Owen Clyne leads George Mason, slashing .375/.468/.600 on the year. Clyne has managed 15 hits, four doubles, a triple, a home run, five RBIs and nine runs scored.
  • Logan Rumberg leads the Patriots on the mound with a 2.87 ERA and 1.21 WHIP. Rumberg has pitched 15.2 innings allowing 11 hits and five earned runs.
  • Shawn Camp enters his fourth season at the helm of George Mason.
