Georgetown Hosts Penn State

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team is set to host the Penn State Nittany Lions from Tuesday, March 10 to Wednesday, March 11 in a two-game midweek series. First pitch of the series is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Capital One Park.

GAMEDAY INFORMATION

  • All contests can be seen on MuscoVision.
  • During the 2026 season, all parking for games at Capital One Park will be in the underground garage at 1820 Capital One Drive South. Patrons should bring their parking ticket to the stadium for validation of baseball rate.

ABOUT THE HOYAS

  • In its last outing, Georgetown defeated the George Mason Patriots 5-4 on Sunday afternoon at Raymond H. "Hap" Spuhler Field to win its third series of the season.
  • Graduate student JT Raab earned a nod to the 2026 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team after posting a team-best 3.63 ERA in 74.1 innings of action in 2025. The Seaford, New York native was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team in 2025.
  • Last week, Kai Leckszas was named to the BIG EAST weekly honor roll. The senior struck out six batters to lead Georgetown to a 12-1 win over FDU on Friday, February 27 at Capital One Park.
  • Jeremy Sheffield leads the Hoya offense slashing .448/.529/.672 this season. The senior has notched 26 hits, 19 RBIs, eight doubles, a triple, a home run and 11 runs scored.
  • Connor Peek has had a standout performance slashing .389/.507/.519 in his first set of games. The graduate student has tallied 21 hits, four doubles, a home run, 17 RBIs and 17 runs scored.
  • Georgetown returns 22 players from the 2025 squad and has added 10 transfers and seven newcomers.
  • Head Coach Edwin Thompson enters his sixth season on the Hilltop. Thompson guided GU to its most successful season in program history in 2024 posting a 36-21 record marking three-consecutive 30-win seasons for the first time in program history. 

ABOUT PENN STATE

  • Penn State  enters the contest with a 4-9 record following an 14-4 loss to Texas Tech on Sunday, March 8 in Lubbock, Texas.
  • Jayden Davis has seen the most at bats for the Nittany Lions, slashing .300/.345/.480 on the season.. Davis has managed 15 hits, three doubles, two home runs, seven RBIs and nine runs scored.
  • Mike Gambino enters his third season at the helm of Penn State.
