Hoyas Fall to St. John’s in Game Two

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team fell to the St. John's University Red Storm 9-0 on Saturday at Jack Kasier Stadium. With the loss in Queens, New York, the Hoyas slip to 18-17 on the season and 1-4 in conference play while the Red Storm improve to 17-17 and 5-0 in league action.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Red Storm got on the board first in the bottom of the third off a series of singles, going up 2-0 at the end of the inning.
  • SJU scored two more runs in the bottom of the fourth to extend its lead to 4-0.
  • SJU added two more on an RBI triple in the bottom of the seventh, taking a six-run lead.
  • St. John's continued to add to their lead in the bottom of the eighth with two singles and a double taking a 9-0 win.

The Hoyas will be back in BIG EAST action on Sunday, April 12 at Jack Kaiser Stadium for game three against the St. John's University Red Storm. First pitch in Queens, New York is scheduled for 1 p.m.
