• Georgetown opened the 2026 campaign with a 4-1 victory over Fordham on August 13 at Shaw Field, earning its first win of the season.
• The Hoyas erupted for four goals in the second half, turning a scoreless halftime draw into a commanding 4-0 lead before Fordham added a late goal.
• Sophomore Abby Droner powered the Georgetown attack with two goals and an assist, recording a team-high five points in the season opener.
• Junior Lizzie Heller also delivered a standout performance, scoring twice, including the opening goal of the season from the penalty spot and a second goal just five minutes later.
• Following the season-opening victory, Droner and Reiley Fitzpatrick were named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, marking the first conference honors of their respective careers.

• No. 1 Stanford opened the 2026 season with a 1-0 shutout victory at Cal Poly on Sunday, improving to 1-0-0 on the season.
• Stanford enters Thursday's matchup ranked No. 1 nationally after being selected as the ACC coaches' preseason favorite. The Cardinal advanced to the College Cup and finished as the national runner-up in 2025.
