WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University volleyball team opens BIG EAST play on the road this weekend, traveling to the midwest for matches against Xavier and Butler. The Hoyas face Xavier on Friday, September 25 at 2 p.m. inside the Cintas Center before visiting Butler at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Saturday, September 26 at 6 p.m.

About the Hoyas
- Head Coach AJ Bonetti enters his fourth season at the helm following a 14-15 campaign last year, which included a 7-9 finish in BIG EAST play.
- Georgetown wrapped up non-conference play last week with consecutive 3-0 sweeps over Howard and George Washington to improve to 8-3 on the season.
- Georgetown averages 13.42 kills and 12.32 assists per set offensively, while collecting 13.42 digs and 2.41 blocks per set on defense.
- On Monday, Berkeley Ploder was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the second time this season. Ploder anchored GU's defense at the net last week, posting 13.0 total blocks and 13 kills across six sets to average 2.17 blocks per set and 3.50 points per set.
- Preseason All-BIG EAST selection Kamryn Lee-Caracci leads Georgetown's offense with 116 kills (3.05 per set), followed by Dionna Mitchell with 106 (3.00 per set) and Ploder with 93 (2.51 per set).
- Lee-Caracci leads the BIG EAST and ranks third nationally with a .500 hitting percentage, while Ploder sits right behind her at second in the conference and sixth in the NCAA (.488).
- Juleigh Urbina has paced the Hoyas offense with 321 assists, averaging 8.45 assists per set, which ranks third in the conference.
- Graduate transfer Bella McGirr anchors the defense with 96 total digs (4.36 per set), while Mitchell has recorded 93 (2.66 per set) and Urbina has posted 81 (2.13 per set)
- Ploder (43), Lee-Caracci (37) and McGregor (26) lead the net defense in total blocks.
- Georgetown welcomes four freshmen this season: Lexi Anderson, Avery Lewis, Addie Lloyd and Olivia Penske.
About the Musketeers
- Xavier is 7-4 on the season after picking up a 3-1 win over Akron on Sunday, September 20.
- The Musketeers were picked fourth in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches Poll as Macy Hatkevich, McKinley Boehm and Margo Kemp were named to the All-Preseason team.
- Xavier finished second in the conference with a 26-5 record last season, including a 14-2 mark in conference play.
About the Bulldogs
- The Bulldogs are 6-6 on the year following a 3-0 loss to LIU on Sunday, September 20.
- Butler finished ninth in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches Poll, while Elise Ward earned a spot on the All-Preseason team.
- BU ended the 2025 season with a 12-17 record, including a 5-11 mark in conference action.
