Urick and Flick Lead Hoyas Over Stony Brook, 19-6

STONY BROOK, NY (April 8) - Scott Urick (Sr., Fairfax, Va./Robinson) and Andy Flick (Sr., Wilton, Conn./Wilton) each scored four goals as Georgetown defeated Stony Brook, 19-6. With the victory, the sixth-ranked Hoyas improved to 8-1 overall and 4-0 in the ECAC. It is the best nine-game start in school history. The Hoyas had 11 different players score goals and the 19 goals were a season-high for GU.

The Hoyas were kept off the board until the 7:49 mark of the first period. Steve Dusseau (So., Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) put GU on the board with an unassisted goal. Flick and Henehan followed as the Hoyas led 3-1 after a period. After the Seawolves cut the lead to 3-2, GU responded with four goals, two by Urick and two by Flick, to go ahead 7-2. Stony Brook scored with five seconds to play in the quarter and trailed 7-3 at the half. The Hoyas put the game away with seven third-quarter goals and added five more in the final period.

Peter Velepec (Sr., Rochester, N.Y./Irondequoit) had five assists for Georgetown. Mike Henehan (Jr., Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy) added four points with two goals and two assists. Jim Conley (Jr., Chevy Chase, Md./Georgetown Prep), who scored twice, Brian Chen (Fr., Amherst, N.H./St. Paul School), John Van Benscoten (Fr., Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca) and Doug Staab (So., Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) each scored their first career goals in the contest.

Scott Schroeder (So., Summit, N.J./Summit) made five saves in three quarters for the Hoyas.
