Washington, D.C. - Georgetown University women's lacrosse standout, senior Stephanie Zodtner (Wayne, Pa./Conestoga) was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week after helping the No. 10 ranked Hoyas to a 15-2 win at Mt. St. Mary's this past weekend. Junior attacker Coco Stanwick (Baltimore, Md./Notre Dame Prep) earned a spot on the BIG EAST Honor Roll after scoring a career-high eight goals in GU's season opener.
Zodtner, who wins the Defensive Player of the Week award for the second time in her career, led the Hoya defense as they held the Mount scoreless in the second half. Zodtner tallied a goal, one assist, two groundballs and a pair of caused turnovers.
Stanwick scored six of the team's seven goals in the second half. The BIG EAST Preseason Offensive Player of the Year posted team-bests with nine draw controls, six ground balls and five caused turnovers.
Georgetown will be back in action on Sunday, March 5 when they travel to Oregon for a non-league game that begins at 4 p.m. (EST)
