NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The No. 3-seed Georgetown women's lacrosse team (11-5) rallied from a seven-goal first-half deficit to beat No. 2-seed Notre Dame (11-6) by the score of 15-14 in three overtime sessions of the BIG EAST Championship semifinals held at ND Stadium. Sophomore

Ashby Kaestner. With the victory the Hoyas advance to the title game of the BIG EAST Championship for the second straight year and will face No. 1-seed Syracuse (15-2). It will be a rematch of the 2007 title game won by the Orange.
Ford finished the game with seven points, including four goals, while Kaestner also scored four times. Freshman Jordy Kirr also tallied seven points, including four assists in her first postseason game.
Notre Dame raced out to a 6-0 lead in the first 15:00 of the contest. ND drew first blood as freshman Shaylyn Blaney notched her 36th goal of the year 4:40 into the contest. It was unassisted. The Irish made it 2-0 less than a minute later as senior Caitlin McKinney put home a feed from junior Jane Stoeckert. Blaney pushed it to 3-0 just 6:03 into the game forcing the Hoyas to call their first timeout.
Hoyas trailed by seven on a pair of occasions in the first half (8-1 and 9-2) but scored four of the last five goals of the first stanza and went into the half trailing 10-6. The 10 goals allowed by the Hoyas in the first half tied the most they had allowed in a half all season.
A pair of quick GU goals in the second half cut it to two, 10-8 in the early minutes of the second half.
Blaney scored her career-high fifth goal of the game 4:12 into the second half. It was her 40th of the season and gave the Irish an 11-8 lead.
Georgetown tied it 11-11 with 18:51 left in the contest as freshman Allie Hubschmann netted her third score of the evening on a free position feed from sophomore Molly Ford.
The Hoyas took their first lead of the game 13-12 with 4:21 left in the game. Kirr was credited with the score as she put home a feed from Ford.
