Women’s Lacrosse Travels to UConn for BIG EAST Regular Season Finale

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women's lacrosse team (9-6, 4-1 BE) will head to Storrs, Connecticut to take on UConn (10-5, 3-2 BE) to close out the 2025 regular season on Saturday, April 26. The opening draw is scheduled for noon at Joseph J. Marrone Stadium.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • After earning a 14-13 victory over Marquette on Cooper Field last Saturday, the Hoyas secured a BIG EAST Championship berth. The Hoyas are currently in third in the conference behind Denver and Villanova. All three programs enter the final week of the season with a 4-1 record in BIG EAST action.  
  • Sophia Loschert was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for the second time this season after leading GU with two goals against the Golden Eagles. 
  • Kendall Steer was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week after tallying three caused turnovers, three ground balls and one assist in the win over Marquette.  
  • Against Marquette, Maley Starr set new career highs of six points and four assists in a game.
  • At the circle, Gracie Driggs leads with 105 draw controls and is third in program history for draw controls in a season. The junior also has 175 career draw controls, which puts her in seventh in the GU record book.
  • On the season, Hanna Bishop leads the Hoyas with 55 points (26G, 29A) while Driggs leads with 45 goals. 
  • Bishop and McGovern are the leading playmakers for GU with 29 and 28 assists, respectively.
  • Christina King leads the defense with 16 caused turnovers, followed by Lily Athanas with 14. 
  • In net, Leah Warehime has 109 saves for a .402 save percentage.  
ABOUT THE HUSKIES 
  • UConn advanced to a 3-2 conference record after beating Xavier 24-8 in Storrs, Connecticut last Saturday. The Huskies now sit in fourth in the BIG EAST standings.
  • Rayea Davis leads the Huskies' offense with 66 points and 45 goals, while Jenna Giardina leads with 32 assists.
  • Defensively, Abby Beran paces UConn with 45 ground balls and 26 caused turnovers.
  • At the draw, Riley Daly leads with 96 draw controls.  
  • In net, Tori Cini has recorded 92 saves for a .416 save percentage.
ABOUT THE MATCHUP
  • Saturday's contest will be the 28th meeting for the Hoyas and the Huskies, dating back to 2001. 
  • GU holds a 19-8 advantage over UConn, including a 7-5 record on the road.
