Six Hoyas Earn IWLCA Regional All-America Honors

Washington, D.C. - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced its list of 128 Division I Regional All-Americans and six Georgetown Hoyas earned the post season award. Georgetown, Virginia and North Carolina were the only schools to have six student-athletes honored.

All six Hoya student-athletes earn IWLCA Regional All-America honors for the first time in their careers.

Blue and Gray junior defender Jordan Trautman (Mystic, Conn./Loomis Chaffee) and sophomores Molly Ford (Reisterstown, Md.) and Ashby Kaestner (Trappe, Md.) were named to the South Region First Team.

Junior defender Bridget Noon (Annapolis, Md./St./ Mary's), sophomore goalkeeper Caitlin Formby (Towson, Md./Notre Dame Prep) and freshman Jordy Kirr (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr School) earned a spot on the South Region's Second Team.

Trautman, who was also named All-BIG EAST First Team, led the team with 45 ground balls while ranking second on the team with 29 caused turnovers. She was a major factor on the defensive unit that ranked 22nd in the nation in scoring defense (9.5 gpg). Trautman, who has started in every game during her career (56 gms.) posted at least three ground balls in 10 different games to rank third in the BIG EAST with 2.4 ground balls per game.

Kaestner garners her second post season award after being named named All-BIG EAST First Team. The Trappe, Md. native led the team in goals (52), points (65), free position goals (9), draws (47) and caused turnovers (33). Kaestner scored at least three goals in nine different games and ranked 30th in the country with 2.7 goals per game.

Ford is now a regional All-American first teamer after being named to the All-BIG EAST First Team. Ford ranked second on the squad with 63 points, 42 goals and 21 assists. Ford matched a career-high with seven points, including the game-winning goal in the three overtime victory over Notre Dame in the BIG EAST Tournament semifinals.

Noon, a team co-captain, earns regional All-America Second Team honors while being a starter in 35 of the team's last 36 games over the last two years. Noon has been a steady force on a defense that ranks 22nd in the nation in scoring defense (9.5). She ranked fourth on the team with 28 ground balls and 32 draw controls and ranked third on the squad with 27 caused turnovers.

Kirr earns regional All America Second Team honors after leading the nation's freshmen with 37 assists. The Baltimore native was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team after ranking third on the team with 21 goals and 58 points. She notched at least five points in six different games, including vs. three BIG EAST opponents.

Formby takes home regional All-America Second Team accolades following her first season as the team's starting goalkeeper. Formby also was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team. The Towson native ranked 13th in the nation with an 8.9 goals-against-average. Formby posted seven double-figure save outings and averaged over just under eight saves per game. Georgetown was a perfect 3-0 when she faced over 30 shots.

The regional All American teams were named in four regions, Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, and West/Midwest.
