Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown University women's soccer team cruised to a 3-0 win over Georgia Southern this afternoon on the final day of the D.C. Invitational at American University.

Michaela Buonomo (Churchville, Pa/Council Rock), Catherine Cabot (San Diego, Calif./Torrey Pines) and Camille Trujillo (Albuquerque, N.M./St. Pius X) all scored goals, while sophomore goalkeeper Elizabeth Hanna (Waxhaw, N.C./Weddington) recorded her first career shutout and helped the Hoyas tie the team mark for consecutive minutes played without conceding a goal.

The Hoyas scored on their second real offensive foray of the game which came in the 12th minute. Caitlin Durkee (St. Paul, Minn./Como Park) delivered a short pass of a corner-kick opportunity to Ingrid Wells (Upper Montclair, N.J./Montclair). The redshirt sophomore then crossed the ball from the left side and Buonomo headed home her second goal of the season for a 1-0 Georgetown lead.

Claire Magliola (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah), Kelly D'Ambrisi (Trumbull, Conn./Lauralton Hall Academy) and Wells all put shots on goal during the remainder of the half as the Hoyas out-shot the Eagles, 14-3. Then, in the closing seconds of the period, Cabot sent in a high-arching shot that caught the GSU goalkeeper off her line and provided the Hoyas a two-goal cushion heading to the intermission.

On the other side of the pitch, Hanna was tested in the first half and made the initial save of the contest. Overall, the North Carolina native made three saves and helped the Hoyas push their opponent scoreless streak to a team record-tying 270 minutes.

Wells had two quick chances in the second half before creating the third goal of the game for GU. A cross from the right side earned her a second assist on the day when Trujillo got her head to the ball and put the Hoyas ahead, 3-0. For the weekend, Wells finished with one goal and four assists, while Trujillo scored three times.

Overall, Georgetown out-shot Georgia Southern, 25-4. Wells and Durkee both hit the crossbar on identical rocket shots from outside the penalty area during the second half. The Hoyas also recorded 11 corner-kick opportunities on the afternoon.

Next up for the Blue & Gray is a home contest with James Madison on Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. on North Kehoe Field.
