WINTER PARK, Fla. - The Georgetown University baseball team (6-5) fell behind early and was never able to catch up with Maine (7-6), who put the game out of reach, scoring seven runs in the top of the sixth inning to go on to a 17-3 victory on Thursday afternoon at Alfond Stadium.
Sophomore catcher Kevin Johnson (Peabody, Mass./Belmont Hill) went 2-for-3 with two runs, while Andy Lentz (Farmington Hills, Mich./Brother Rice) went 2-for-3 in the loss. The Hoyas got on the board for the first time in the bottom of the sixth inning when Erick Fernandez's sacrifice fly drove in Lentz. They added runs in the eighth and ninth inning, but it would be too late for the Hoyas, who fell 17-3.
