WASHINGTON - Georgetown University senior midfielder Chris Schuville (Lloyd Harbor, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) was named to the BIG EAST Lacrosse Conference's Weekly Honor Roll on Monday after his performance during a game last week. It is the seventh time a Georgetown player has been recognized by the league this season, with two earning Player of the Week nods and five being named to the Honor Roll.
Georgetown, 4-3 overall and 2-1 in the BIG EAST Conference, is ranked No. 10 in the country in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse poll and No. 13 by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA).
Schuville picked up a game-high eight groundballs in Georgetown's 15-10 loss to No.7 Duke on Saturday.
The senior has enjoyed a standout season through seven games for the Hoyas as a defensive middie. He has helped a unit that has been hit by injuries - with two starters out and a third contributor out for the season - and ranks second on the team with 35 ground balls. Schuville has also scored a goal and assisted on one more.
For his career, he has appeared in 36 games with 11 goals, three assists and has 87 ground balls.
The Hoyas are back in action next on Friday, April 2, visiting Navy in a long-time matchup between local rivals. Face-off is slated for 7:06 p.m. The game will be shown live on CBS College Sports, with Jason Knapp and Matt Danowski calling all of the action.
