WASHINGTON - The No. 5/5 Georgetown University women's lacrosse squad will continue its four-game nonconference road trip on Tuesday as the Hoyas travel to Gainesville, Fla., to take on the University of Florida Gators. The Blue & Gray is 1-1 on the season after suffering a tough 15-10 loss to No. 1/1 Northwestern on Saturday.

Georgetown opened the season with a 15-9 win over Johns Hopkins at Multi-Sport Field on February 24. Molly Ford (Reisterstown, Md./Notre Dame Prep) led the way with seven points on six goals and one assist while Ashby Kaestner (Trappe, Md./Saints Peter and Paul) added three goals and two assists.

Facing No. 1/1 Northwestern, the Hoyas were trailing by just two goals at the half, but allowed a big Wildcat run to start the second eventually falling 15-10. Bunny O'Reilly (Philadelphia, Pa./Springside School) had a team-high three points on two goals and one assist. Keeper Caitlin Formby (Towson, Md./Notre Dame Prep) had a big game with 14 saves.

Florida, in its first year in Division I, is 3-1 on the year with victories over St. Bonaventure, La Salle and Jacksonville. The Gators fell to No. 4 North Carolina 18-5 last week. Freshman Brittany Dashiell was named the American Lacrosse Conference Co-Rookie of the Week totaling six goals and seven draw controls over two games,

The will be the first meeting between the squads and the first for the Gators and a BIG EAST squad.
