Senior defender Annika Bannon (Hopkinton, Mass./Notre Dame Academy) earned a spot on this week's BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after the Hoyas lost two close games this weekend, a 1-0 loss to Appalachian State on Saturday and a 2-1 loss to Davidson yesterday decided by penalty strokes.

Bannon anchored a line that only saw six shots in the loss against Appalachian State and gave up one goal in regulation against Davidson.

This is Bannon's second BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll selection this season. She has also played in 64 consecutive games for the Hoyas since arriving on the Hilltop.

Georgetown plays again this weekend as the team hosts BIG EAST opponent Rutgers in its conference home opener on Friday, Oct. 1 at noon. The Hoyas will conclude their weekend facing Richmond on Sunday, Oct. 3 at noon. Both games will be played at the William I. Jacobs Recreational Complex on the campus of American University.
