WASHINGTON - Junior right-handed pitcher and third baseman Mackensey Carter (Mission Viejo, Calif./Mission Viejo) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll when the conference announced its weekly awards on Monday afternoon. It was the second time in her career that Carter has been recognized by the conference and the second time a Hoya has found a spot on the honor roll this season.

Carter helped GU split its opening pair of BIG EAST games in a week where she batted .550 (11-for-20) with a home run and six RBI in six total contests. She had five multi-hit efforts and slugged .750 while reaching base over 60 percent of the time.

In Georgetown's two wins last week, Carter was a combined 4-for-5 against Drexel and Connecticut with three RBI. She hit her fourth home run of the season as part of a 3-for-4 effort in an 8-4 loss to Virginia on Thursday.

In the circle, Carter made three starts, earning the win in a 5-3 victory over UConn on Saturday. She hurled a complete game, only throwing 88 pitches, while allowing three earned runs and striking out three.

The junior now leads the Hoyas in average (.327), hits (33) and home runs (4) and is tied for the team lead in RBI (12).

This is the second time Carter has been named to the honor roll, earning the distinction on March 29 of last year.
