Nov. 20, 2014 WASHINGTON - Georgetown University Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Ricky Fried announced the signing of nine student-athletes to National Letters of Intent on Thursday. The future Hoyas are in the midst of their senior year of high school with one interscholastic season remaining before coming to the Hilltop in the fall of 2015.
"I'm so excited to have these players joining the Georgetown family," said Fried. "This is another phenomenal incoming class and they will be able to help us at every position with attackers, middies, a defender and a goalkeeper signing NLI's. We're looking for this group to make an immediate impact."
The attackers include Taylor Gebhardt from Baldwinsville, N.Y., and Mariah Matheis from Darien, Conn.
The midfielders are the largest group with five coming to the Hilltop. Rachael Alberti of Bernardsville, N.J., Natalie Bulgier from Harleysville, Pa., Megan Massimino of Villanova, Pa., Morgan Ryan from Maplewood, N.J., and Francesca Whitehurst of Baltimore, Md., will all work for time in one of the midfield lines.
On defense, Josie Zinn from Franklin Lakes, N.J., will join the backline and Haelle Chomo of Naples, Fla., comes in as a goalkeeper.
The Hoyas have concluded fall play and will begin practice in January, 2015.
