ILWomen Questions:
ILW: When did you first pick up a lacrosse stick? How did you get involved in the sport?
AK: I was basically handed a lacrosse stick at birth. My dad was an All-American at University of Maryland and his brother and father were hall-of-famers at Johns Hopkins. We have home movies of me literally running around at the age of 2 dragging a stick around.
ILW: Who were some role models in the sport, early on, that helped you get into the game and helped you continue to grow?
AK: We were huge Terps fans growing up, and my dad would take my sister and me to games when we were younger. He always thought it was really important for us to see how the "big girls" played. Jen Adams and Quinn Carney were at Maryland during the height of my "fan girl" stage, so I would definitely say they were major role models.
ILW: You played at Georgetown during some of the program's most successful years. What was it like playing for one of the top lacrosse teams in the nation? What was the highlight of your career there?
AK: Playing for a top school was always a dream of mine, so picking a school that I knew would be competitive and had great players in the program was important.
