Final Stats

BETHESDA, Md. - The Georgetown baseball team was held to six hits on Saturday afternoon, falling to Towson 10-2 at Shirley Povich Field.

Starting pitcher David Ellingson (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands College Park) battled through 4.2 innings. He gave up three runs, just two earned, on five hits and three walks while striking out six. Six different Hoyas had a base hit.

Towson scored the game's first run in the second inning. A soft two-out double down the right field line, on a defensive swing on a good 1-2 pitch by Ellingson, provided the damage.

The Tigers added single runs in the fourth and fifth innings, the latter being an unearned run. A two-run home run off of Felix van der Vaart (Annandale, Va./Flint Hill School) in the sixth inning put the Hoyas in a 5-0 hole.

Georgetown scored both of its runs in the bottom of the sixth. Beau Hall (Seaville, N.J./Ocean City) singled, Ryan Busch (Falcon Heights, Minn./Roseville Area) walked and Patrick Camporini (Safety Harbor, Fla./Clearwater Central Catholic) singled to load the bases with nobody out. Nick Collins (Carthage, N.C./Union Pines) grounded out to first to score Hall and Steve Anderson (Albany, N.Y./Northfield Mt. Hermon Prep (Mass.)/Guilderland) hit a sacrifice fly to center to allow Busch to cross the plate and cut the deficit to 5-2.

Towson put the game away with a five-run eighth inning off of Joseph Bialkowski (Raleigh, N.C./Needham B. Broughton).

The two teams wrap up their season series on Sunday with a 1 p.m. game at Towson's John B. Schuerholz Park in Baltimore.

Notes - Busch went 0-3 with a walk, snapping his hitting streak at 12 games.
