WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University track & field team sent a small contingent of sprinters down to Auburn, Ala., for the 2014 Tiger Track Classic, a two-day event that concluded today. All-Americans Amanda Kimbers (Baltimore, Md./McDonogh) and Deseree King (Oxon Hill, Md./Oxon Hill) highlighted the day's performances with strong times in just the second weekend of competition for the Hoyas.

Kimbers doubled up, competing in both the women's 100- and 200-meter dash. Kimbers finished fifth in both events with respective times of 11.90 and 23.75. It's a season-best time in the 100m for Kimbers and this was the first time this outdoor season the graduate student has competed in the 200m.

In the 400-meter hurdles, King took seventh place with a time of season-best 1:00.87.

The Hoyas will continue the season next weekend at the George Mason Invitational on Saturday, April 12 in Fairfax, Va.
