Sept. 29, 2014

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown men's tennis team completed competition at the Penn Invitational hosted at the University of Pennsylvania over the weekend. There was no team scoring in the event, but participants played in a dual match format and earned points on singles and doubles flight victories.

On Friday, the Hoyas were matched up with Cornell and Saint Joseph's. Against Cornell, the Hoyas were victorious in doubles play when the duo of Shane Korber (Newport Beach, Calif./Corona del Mar) and Yannik Mahlangu (Henderson, Nev./Green Valley) took down Dylan Brown and Andrew Dykeman, 8-7. "That's the ideal fall weekend that you want to have for a team that has a combination of experience and youth" said Head Coach Gordon Ernst. "You want to have a match like the one we had with Cornell that leaves the team hungry, because they can see how close they are. It shows you that we have a pretty good team this year."
