WASHINGTON - Highlighted by five games against teams that played in last year's NCAA Tournament, a challenging non-conference slate and five home games at Shaw Field in the final seven games of the season, Georgetown University Head Women's Soccer Coach Dave Nolan announced the team's 2015 schedule.

Georgetown finished the 2014 season with an 11-5-6 overall record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the third-straight year. The Hoyas posted a 6-1-2 record in the BIG EAST and advanced to play in the BIG EAST Tournament Championship game.

"Our 2015 schedule may turn out to be one of the toughest we have had to face yet," Nolan said.

Following exhibition games at home against West Virginia (Wed., Aug. 12, 5 p.m.) and at Richmond (Sat., Aug. 15, 5 p.m.), the Blue & Gray open the regular season in Harrisonburg, Va. at the James Madison tournament. The Hoyas play host James Madison on Friday, Aug. 21 (7 p.m.) and then close out the weekend on Sunday, Aug. 23 (11:30 a.m.) against William & Mary.

"Straight out of the gate we face off against two strong regional programs with James Madison and William & Mary," Nolan said. "This will tell us very early what we are made of."

The Hoyas make their Shaw Field debut against former conference rival Connecticut on Aug. 27 (4 p.m.) and close out the home weekend with a match against the University of San Diego on Sunday, Aug. 30 (noon).

Three of the next five games are on the road, starting at Delaware on Friday, Sept. 4 (7 p.m.). GU will play home games against George Washington on Sept. 10 (4 p.m.) and Virginia Tech on Sept. 13 (1 p.m.) before closing out the non-conference portion of the schedule on Friday, Sept. 18 at Central Florida (7 p.m.) and on Sunday, Sept. 20 at Stetson (11:30 a.m.).

"Home games against three teams that were in the 2014 NCAA Tournament (UConn, San Diego and Virginia Tech) give us a chance to post some strong resume games before we head to Florida to face off against a very strong Central Florida squad," Nolan said. "And throw in our own Super Classico against a strong GW team and it is a great non-conference schedule."

BIG EAST Conference play starts with a pair of road games, first at Providence on Sunday, Sept. 27 (1 p.m.) and then at Villanova on Thursday, Oct. 1 (4 p.m.)

Georgetown plays five of its final seven BIG EAST Conference games at home. The first league home game is against Xavier on Sunday, Oct. 4 (1 p.m.). The weekend closes out on Thursday, Oct. 8 against St. John's (3 p.m.) in a rematch of last year's conference tournament semifinals.

The Hoyas travel to play at Butler on Sunday, Oct. 11 (1 p.m.) before returning home for a pair of games. The Blue & Gray host Marquette on Sunday, Oct. 18 (1 p.m.) and then Seton Hall on Thursday, Oct. 22 (3 p.m.).

The team's final league road game is on Sunday, Oct. 25 at DePaul at 1 p.m. in a rematch of last year's BIG EAST Tournament Championship game.

Georgetown plays its final regular season game of season on Friday, Oct. 30, hosting Creighton (2:30 p.m.).

"This year's BIG EAST will be very challenging as we head to play at the defending champions (DePaul) and host two very experienced programs in St. John's and Marquette, who will look to return to the NCAA's after last year," Nolan said. "Every BIG EAST game is a battle and I expect us to be pushed all the way by all in our conference. All in all, it is a great challenge for the girls and I know they are excited to start up in August."

The Hoyas, who are expected to be led by First Team All-BIG EAST selection Rachel Corboz (Green Brook, N.J./Pingry), return nine starters from last year's team and 13 letterwinners.
