Aug. 24, 2015 WASHINGTON - Georgetown University women's lacrosse players Lindy Firstenberg (Bethesda, Md./Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart), Betsy Holland (Huntington, N.Y./St. Anthony's) and Megan Marinelli (Northport, N.Y./Northport) were among 256 student-athletes named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Academic Honor Roll on Monday.
The IWLCA honored 256 student-athletes from 80 different institutions with inclusion in the 2015 IWLCA Division I Academic Honor Roll. All student-athletes were nominated by their schools and have achieved at least junior status academically and had a cumulative academic GPA or 3.50 or greater.
All three Hoyas completed their time on the Hilltop in May and graduated. Firstenberg was a psychology major, Holland majored in international politics and Marinelli was a government major.
This is Holland's second nod to the honor roll after earning a spot on the team last year. Holland and Marinelli are four-time BIG EAST All-Academic honorees and Firstenberg has been named to the list twice after transferring to Georgetown from Boston University.
Six BIG EAST schools had student-athletes named to the honor roll.
Students will return to campus next week to begin the 2015-16 school year.
