Jan. 15, 2016 WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Georgetown men's tennis team opens its spring schedule with visits to No.9 North Carolina (UNC) and Virginia Common Wealth (VCU) this weekend.
The Hoyas will match up against UNC on Saturday, Jan.16, at Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center and then face off against VCU on Sunday, Jan.17, at the Thalhimer Tennis Center. Both contests are slated to start at 10 a.m. Each match will consist of six singles matches and three doubles matches.
"The guys are pumped to have this incredible opportunity to play North Carolina," Georgetown Tennis Head Coach Gordon Ernst said. "They are No. 9 in the country right now and have five guys in the national rankings. On Sunday we play VCU, another team ranked in the top 50 loaded with talent. We are jumping right into the fire to start the season."
Representing the Blue & Gray this weekend are senior Daniel Khanin; juniors Yannik Mahlangu, Jack Murphy, Ryan McElvenny and Jordan Portner; sophomores Peter Beatty, Marco Lam, Bart Panarese, Mac Rechan, and freshmen Michael Chen and Will Sharton.
