WASHINGTON – Georgetown University senior Symone Speech (Oak Park, Ill. / Oak Park-River Forest) was selected to the BIG EAST Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. Speech posted an impressive all-around performance over the weekend despite a pair of hard-fought losses for the Hoyas.

In two road matches, Speech averaged 2.25 kills per set while hitting at a .292 clip. She was also credited with 15 total blocks for an impressive 1.88 blocks per set average and added four digs.

Opening the week with 10 kills at Seton Hall, Speech also notched seven blocks with two coming from solo rejections. She followed that performance with eight kills and eight blocks against St. John's. Speech also collected two digs in contest.

Georgetown returns to action as it hosts Villanova next Friday on the Hilltop.
