WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's Daniel Bucaro (East Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville) was selected as one of the 25 men's nominees for the 2018 Tewaaraton Award, as announced on Thursday by The Tewaaraton Foundation. The Tewaaraton Award is recognized as the pre-eminent lacrosse award, annually honoring the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States.
Five men's and five women's finalists will be selected from these groups, announced on Thursday, May 10 and invited to the 18th annual Tewaaraton Award Ceremony on Thursday, May 31 in Washington, D.C.
Bucaro leads the Hoyas with 55 points (34G, 21A) on the season, the 12th most in a campaign for a Georgetown player in program history. He has notched nine multi-goal games this season including three with at least five, and has posted seven games with at least five points.
A preseason All-BIG EAST selection this year, Bucaro was named All-BIG EAST First Team as a sophomore in 2017. He was also tabbed the BIG EAST Freshman of the Year and a second team honoree in 2016.
For his career, Bucaro has scored 92 goals to go with 47 assists and ranks 10th all-time at Georgetown in career points with 139.
