Box Score WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team dropped its first conference match of the season with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-20) loss at No. 20 Marquette in BIG EAST action on Friday night. The Hoyas fall to 10-6 overall and 3-1 in league play.
Iva Vujosevic (Bar, Montenegro / Niko Rolovic) led the Hoyas with eight kills while
Alyssa Sinnette (Pearland, Texas / Dawson) added seven.
Margo Pivonka (Broadview Heights, Ohio / Walsh Jesuit) paced the offense with 23 assists.
Defensively,
Kenzie Higareda (Woodbridge, Va. / Forest Park) led all players with 18 digs while
Hannah Hamling (Warwick, N.Y. / Warwick) tallied three blocks with
Brennan Wilhite (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. / Cathedral Catholic / USC) adding a pair.
Allie Barber led Marquette with 13 kills.
Georgetown returns to action on Saturday against BIG EAST foe DePaul in Chicago.
