Hoyas Travel to Campbell for Three-Game Series
 
WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team returns to North Carolina for the second time in as many weeks, traveling to play Campbell University in a three-game series this weekend. First pitch in Friday's series opener is scheduled for 5 p.m., while Saturday and Sunday's contests are slated to begin at 3 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively. The Hoyas opened the 2019 season last weekend at the Wake Forest Invitational, dropping games to Illinois, Sacred Heart and Wake Forest. Eddie McCabe (Norwalk, Conn. / Norwalk) led the offense with a .385 (5 for 13) average, two RBIs and two runs scored. Kai Nelson (New York, N.Y. / Fieldston) hit .375 (3 for 8) with a pair of doubles and three runs scored.
 
Nick Morreale (Lake Elmo, Minn. / St. Thomas Academy / IMG Academy) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday. He set a career high with nine strikeouts in 6.0-plus innings in his first start of the season on Saturday against Sacred Heart. He retired the first six batters and eight of the first nine overall, facing just three batters over the minimum through six innings.
 
Campbell enters the weekend with a 2-2 record after earning a 7-6 walk off victory over No. 9 East Carolina in its home opener on Wednesday. Collin Wolf leads the Camels with a .417 (5 for 12) batting average and five RBIs. He is tied with Matthew Christian for the team lead with two home runs.

Following this weekend's games, the Hoyas will return to the DMV for a midweek game against George Washington. First pitch against the Colonials is set for 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at Barcroft Park in Arlington, Virginia. The Blue & Gray will then depart on its 10-day, eight-game spring break trip to Florida.
