Michaela Bruno (Garden City, N.Y. / Garden City) and senior midfielder
Francesca Whitehurst (Baltimore, Md. / Roland Park Country School) earned BIG EAST Weekly Awards on Tuesday as Bruno was named the BIG EAST Attacker of the Week and Whitehurst earned BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week honors.
Bruno tallied six points off of four goals and two assists in a 1-1 week for the No. 22 Hoyas. The junior led Georgetown to a 20-11 win over UC Davis with two goals, two assists, a ground ball and caused turnover on Sunday, after scoring two goals off of three shots against then-No. 11 Loyola (Md.) on Wednesday.
Whitehurst stuffed the stat sheet for the Blue & Gray tallying seven points off five goals and two assists, nine draw controls, two ground balls and two caused turnovers. In GU's win over UC Davis, Whitehurst went off for five goals and an assist along with seven draws.
In the UC Davis win,
Taylor Gebhardt (Baldwinsville, N.Y. / C.W. Baker) followed Whitehurst and notched her fifth hat trick of the season and paced the offence with an additional two assists. Along with Bruno,
Emily Ehle (Baldwinsville, N.Y. / Christian Brothers Academy),
Morgan Ryan (Maplewood, N.J. / Oak Knoll School) and
Natalia Lynch (Smithtown, N.Y. / Smithtown West) rounded out those with a pair of goals in the contest while a total of seven Hoyas tallied scores in the matchup.
Georgetown outshot UC Davis 52-24 and forced 17 turnovers while giving up nine of its own. On the draw, GU pulled in 20 draw controls to the Aggies' 13. Senior goalkeeper
Haelle Chomo (Naples, Fla. / Barron Collier) notched five saves in the contest while junior goalkeeper
Micheline DiNardo (Rye, N.Y. / Rye) picked up two saves in 14:08 minutes of play.
Whitehurst and Gebhardt lead the team in scoring with 33 points apiece. Whitehurst has 18 goals and a squad-best 15 assists, while Gebhardt has managed a team-high 22 goals with 11 assists on the season. They are followed by Lynch in third with 20 goals and seven assists tallying 27 points, while Ryan is fourth with a squad-best 22 goals to go along with one assist on the year.

Jordyn Sabourin (Catonsville, Md. / Notre Dame Prep) with 33 and 26, respectively. Lynch leads the defense with 14 caused turnovers and junior
Noelle Peragine (Northport, N.Y. / Northport) has added 12. In goal, Chomo has played a majority of the minutes in the cage with 59 saves and a 10.12 goals-against average for the season.
The Bulldogs look to rebound from a 19-2 setback at Vanderbilt last Sunday. Ashley Guerra scored her 22nd goal of the season in the loss, while Lindsey Schreiber had the Bulldogs' second goal. Amanda Rumsey started in the cage, making four saves and allowing 11 goals. Guerra now has 37 points this season and senior Haley Hallenbeck has made her presence known in the midfield, scoring 11 goals with one assist. Ashley Steffes has been the Bulldogs' draw control leader with 27. The sophomore also adds seven goals and eight assists.
Georgetown is 2-0 all-time against the Bulldogs winning 18-2 on the road in the Bulldogs' first year of intercollegiate lacrosse. Last year, GU came away with the 20-13 victory at Cooper Field.
