WASHINGTON – The No. 21 Georgetown University women's lacrosse squad (4-1) will host the George Washington University Colonials on Tuesday at Cooper Field. The Hoyas used a late second half run to pull away and defeat the University of Delaware Blue Hens 15-11 on Saturday at Delaware Stadium. Senior attacker

The Hoyas outshot the Blue Hens 24-19 and pulled in 15 draw controls to Delaware's 13. GU was 2 for 7 on free position shots while limiting the Blue Hens to a 2 of 4 performance. Additionally, the defense forced 16 turnovers, eight caused, as GU committed just 14 in the contest. Freshman midfielder

Gebhardt leads the team in scoring with 14 goals and eight assists for 22 points on the season. She is followed by Whitehurst who has 17 points on six goals and 11 assists. Ryan and junior
Natalia Lynch (Smithtown, N.Y. / Smithtown West) are in third and fourth, respectively. Ryan has a squad-high 15 goals on the year and Lynch has nine goals and four assists for 13 points on the season.

Noelle Peragine (Northport, N.Y. / Northport) lead the defense with nine caused turnovers each. In goal, Chomo has played a majority of the minutes in the cage with 35 saves and an 8.88 goal-against average for the season.
The Colonials were dealt a 15-8 defeat on Friday by the visiting California Golden Bears to fall to 1-3 on the season. Cal led from start to finish, scoring the first four goals of the game and building an eight-goal lead at its largest. GW would go on to match the visitors in the second half, with each team tallying five scores. Tori Hampton paces the squad with 18 points on nine goals and three assists. In goal, Jenna Oler has played every minute with 35 saves and a 12.00 goals-against average.
The Hoyas are 4-0 all-time against the Colonials and 2-0 at home. The last meeting was a 16-5 Georgetown victory during the 2017 season on the road at GW's Mount Vernon campus. Whitehurst led the way with five goals and one assist as well as 10 draw controls in the contest as the Hoyas pulled away in the second half. The last contest at Cooper Field was a 17-2 GU win during the 2009 campaign. That was the end of a three-year series.
