Penn is one of just nine unbeaten teams in the nation sitting at 5-0 on the year and 1-0 in the Ivy League. On Tuesday, the squad overcame a slow start going down 4-0 to Drexel before coming back for the 12-10 victory. Erin Barry led the way with a hat trick, while Laura Crawford, Zoe Belodeau and Gabby Rosenzweig each had two goals for the Quakers. Rosenzweig leads the squad overall with 13 goals and 17 assist for 30 points on the year. The teams have had two common opponents this season. Penn downed Delaware 15-4 and defeated Johns Hopkins 11-10 in overtime.
Georgetown is 1-5 all-time against the Quakers and 1-2 at Franklin Field. The squads have met every season since 2014 with the Hoyas never being able to pull out the victory. Last year was an 18-6 GU loss and the season prior was a 14-6 defeat in Philadelphia. The lone Georgetown victory in the series came at home during the 2012 season when the Blue & Gray managed the 11-9 win.
Penn also begins a challenging three-game road swing for the Blue & Gray. The squad will face No. 1 Boston College and No. 10 Loyola (Md.) over the next 10 days.
