WASHINGTON – The No. 22 Georgetown University women's lacrosse squad will host the No. 16 Denver Pioneers on Saturday at Cooper Field. The opening draw is scheduled for noon. Junior midfielder
Liza Liotta (Baltimore, Md. / St. John's School for Girls) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Tuesday when the league announced its weekly awards. Liotta scored a game-high four goals as the Blue & Gray topped Butler 21-3 on Saturday. All five of Liotta's shots were on target and she added a pair of ground balls.

Michaela Bruno (Garden City, N.Y. / Garden City) and
Morgan Ryan (Maplewood, N.J. / Oak Knoll School) had two goals and an assist each. Senior midfielder
Francesca Whitehurst (Baltimore, Md. / Roland Park Country School) and
Natalia Lynch (Smithtown, N.Y. / Smithtown West) boasted a pair of goals apiece on the afternoon as 13 different players scored for the Blue & Gray.
Georgetown outshot Butler 38-11 and forced 17 turnovers while giving up 10 of its own. On the draw, GU pulled in 14 draw controls to the Bulldogs' 11. The Hoyas were also a perfect 20-for-20 on clears. Senior goalkeeper
Haelle Chomo (Naples, Fla. / Barron Collier) notched seven saves in the contest while junior goalkeeper
Micheline DiNardo (Rye, N.Y. / Rye) had 24 minutes of action in the cage.
Whitehurst and Gebhardt lead the team in scoring with 36 points apiece. Whitehurst has 20 goals and a squad-best 16 assists, while Gebhardt has managed a team-high 25 goals with 11 assists on the season. They are followed by Lynch in third with 22 goals and seven assists tallying 29 points, while Ryan is fourth with 24 goals to go along with three assists on the year.

Jordyn Sabourin (Catonsville, Md. / Notre Dame Prep) with 34 and 28, respectively. Lynch leads the defense with 15 caused turnovers and junior
Noelle Peragine (Northport, N.Y. / Northport) has added 12. In goal, Chomo has played a majority of the minutes in the cage with 66 saves and a 9.68 goals-against average for the season.
Denver is 9-2 on the season and 1-0 in BIG EAST play. The Pioneers are coming off a season-high 36-point performance last weekend defeating Old Dominion 20-1 in the BIG EAST opener. Following the win, Denver earned two of the four BIG EAST weekly honors, senior Katherine Fischer secured the Defender of the Week while Hannah Liddy earned her second Attacker of the Week award. The squad is led by Liddy and Eliza Radochonski who have 43 points apiece.
The Hoyas are 4-2 all-time against Denver and 2-0 at home. Last year, the squads met twice and split as GU won on the road 8-7 during the regular season. In the BIG EAST semifinal, the Pioneers came away with the 12-7 victory. The last contest at Cooper Field was a 9-7 Georgetown decision during the 2017 campaign.
