Killam registered a 4.41 ERA in seven starts in 2019 before his season was cut short due to injury at the end of nonconference play. He struck out 47 batters in 34.2 innings, setting a program record with 12.20 strikeouts per nine innings. He struck out 13 in 5.2 no-hit innings against Kansas over spring break and followed that with 11 strikeouts in 6.2 innings to pick a victory over Princeton. Killam was an All-BIG EAST Second Team selection in 2018 after breaking the Georgetown single season record with 97 strikeouts. Overall, he is tied for ninth in GU's career records with 170 strikeouts while his three-year mark of 12.20 strikeouts per nine innings is a program record.
Morreale finished the 2019 season with a 4.63 ERA in 15 appearances, including 11 starts. He tied for the team lead with four wins and was third with 82 strikeouts in 68.0 innings pitched. His 82 strikeouts are the fifth most in Georgetown's single season history and he ranks second with 10.85 strikeouts per nine innings. Morreale made six quality starts, including a stretch of four straight in April with three coming in BIG EAST play. He earned BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week honors on April 29 after setting personal bests with 8.0 innings pitched and 14 strikeouts in a 2-1 victory over St. John's, helping lead the Hoyas to their first ever sweep over the Red Storm. Morreale also reached double digits with 12 strikeouts in 6.0 innings in a victory at Villanova. The right-hander picked up a save with 3.1 innings of relief at ETSU. In his three years on the Hilltop, Morreale ranks second with 10.38 strikeouts per nine innings. He is also tied for ninth with 170 career strikeouts and tied for 10th with 66 career appearances.
Burke had a breakout season in 2019, finishing with a 4.66 ERA and 86 strikeouts in a team-high 85.0 innings pitched to earn All-BIG EAST Second Team honors. His 86 strikeouts are the third most in Georgetown's single season history. Burke threw a complete game against Ball State in March and registered three games with at least 10 strikeouts. He fanned 10 against Sacred Heart in March and matched that in his final start of the season against Butler. He set a career high with 12 strikeouts in the series opener against St. John's, helping lead the Hoyas to their first ever sweep of the Red Storm.
Cushing was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team in 2019, his first postseason accolade, after capping off a tremendous career with his best season in a Hoya uniform. The senior led the pitching staff with a 3.06 ERA and 87 strikeouts, while tying for the team lead with four wins and ranking second with 79.1 innings pitched. His 87 strikeouts rank second in Georgetown's single season and, in his final start of his career, Cushing set the career record with 236 strikeouts. He also finished his career in the program's top 10 in wins (15), strikeouts per nine innings (7.47), innings pitched (284.1) and games started (46). Cushing also set the program's single game strikeout record with 16 against Mount St. Mary's earlier this season.
It is the first time that Georgetown has had four draft picks in a single year, besting the previous record of three in 2015. The quartet of pitchers are GU's first draft picks since Matt Smith (B'16) and David Ellingson (B'17) were selected six picks part in the 34th round of the 2016 MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers and Seattle Mariners, respectively.
Georgetown concluded the 2019 season with a 22-34 overall record and a 7-11 mark in BIG EAST play, finishing in fifth place, just one game out of a postseason berth. A program-record five Hoyas were selected to All-BIG EAST teams, highlighted by a first team selection for
