Natalia Lynch was named the BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week on Monday as announced by the league. This is Lynch's third weekly award this season as she earned Midfielder of the Week honors in the first set of awards this year as well as last week. Additionally, sophomore
Ali Diamond was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
Lynch repeats as top midfielder after totaling 10 points off four goals and six assists, 18 draw controls, two ground balls and two caused turnovers in a 1-1 week for the Hoyas (3-2). Against Johns Hopkins on Wednesday, the senior set the single-game program record with 14 draw controls, while totaling seven points off three goals and four assists. She followed with a goal and two assists, along with four draws in Saturday's win over Delaware. One of her two dishes against the Blue Hens was on Diamond's overtime game winner. This is the fifth major weekly award of her career.
Diamond led Georgetown with eight points off six goals and two assists for the week. It was highlighted by scoring the overtime game winner over Delaware on Saturday. In the heartbreaking one-goal loss to Johns Hopkins, she had four goals and one assist for five points. This is her first weekly honor.
