Hoyas Travel to Towson on Saturday

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team embarks on a three-game road swing beginning with a noon showdown at Towson on Saturday. The No. 13/12 Hoyas boast a 5-0 record while the host Tigers are 0-5 on the season.

ABOUT GEORGETOWN
•    Georgetown is coming off a 13-4 victory over Bellarmine on Saturday, improving to 5-0 on the season for just the second time since 2003.
•    Jake Carraway was named the BIG EAST Attack Player of the Week for the third-straight time this year after posting nine goals, three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers in two games.
•    Owen McElroy was selected to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after notching 23 saves, five ground balls and two caused turnovers in two wins between the pipes.
•    On the season, Carraway leads the Hoyas with 29 points (20G, 9A), followed by both Dylan Watson with 22 points (20G, 2A) and Robert Clark with 22 points (9G, 13A). Declan McDermott adds double-digit points with 12 (8G, 4A) and Graham Bundy Jr. adds 10 (5G, 5A).
•    The Hoyas have been stellar at the 'X', posting a .682 faceoff percentage in four games. James Reilly has gone 60-for-87 (.690) on the season while Carson Milburn is 27-for-35 (.771).
•    In goal, McElroy is 5-0 with 49 saves. His 6.60 goals-against average is the best in the nation and his .620 save percentage ranks fourth overall.
•    Gibson Smith leads GU's defense with six caused turnovers and 20 ground balls. Alex Mazzone's four CTs and 19 ground balls pace the Blue & Gray's rope unit at LSM.

ABOUT TOWSON
•    The Tigers host Georgetown following a 10-5 loss to Baltimore County rival UMBC on Tuesday.
•    Brody McLean leads Towson with 11 points (8G, 3A), the only Tiger with double-digit points. James Avanzato and Austin Stewart have nine points each.
•    Defensively, Garrett Zungailia has seven caused turnovers and nine ground balls while Mo Sillah has a team-best 10 GBs.
•    Towson owns a .323 faceoff percentage as a team, but Shane Santora has won 21-of-46 (.457) on the year.
•    In goal, Shane Brennan took control of the cage in the last three games for TU. He has collected 47 saves with a 14.21 GAA and a .528 save percentage.

SERIES HISTORY
•    Saturday will be the seventh-straight meeting between Georgetown and Towson, and the 10th overall.
•    The Tigers own a 7-2 all-time advantage in the series, including a 14-8 victory on the Hilltop last season.
•    Georgetown's lone win in the recent seven-game stretch was a 12-11 win at Johnny Unitas Stadium in 2018.

•    Georgetown remains on the road next weekend as it travels to face No. 3/4 North Carolina on Saturday, March 14 at 1 p.m. The meeting is the first in program history between the Hoyas and the Tar Heels.
