2020 Baseball Seniors Leave Mark on Program

WASHINGTON – With the cancellation of NCAA spring sports in response to COVID-19, the 2020 baseball season was cut drastically short and effectively ended the collegiate careers of six Hoyas who will graduate from Georgetown this spring. In their time on the Hilltop, these six seniors combined to appear in 462 games, leaving their mark on the program both on and off the field.   
 
Noah Abdalla, RHP – Raleigh, N.C.
Abdalla appeared in two games this year, recording three strikeouts and a 0.00 ERA in 2.0 innings. A team captain in 2020, Abdalla battled multiple injuries during his career, missing the entire 2018 and 2019 seasons. He appeared in 18 games as a freshman, recording five saves and 18 strikeouts in 20.2 innings.
 

 
Freddy Achecar III, 1B – Atlanta, Ga.
Achecar III was a two-time captain and a fixture at first base for the Hoyas over the past three seasons. This spring, he ranked among the BIG EAST leaders with 12 walks and 12 RBIs. Achecar appeared in 125 career games, making 90 starts while recording 75 hits, 3 home runs, 15 doubles and 40 RBIs.
 

 
Ryan M. Davis, CF – Danville, Calif.
Davis, best known as RD to his teammates, batted .275 this season with a team-best six extra-base hits and five stolen bases. He was second on the Hoyas with 12 RBIs and 19 hits, recording his 150th career hit on March 10 at FGCU. Davis appeared in 158 career games, finishing with seven home runs, 34 doubles, five triples, 66 RBIs and 37 stolen bases.
 

 
AJ Lotsis, OF – Phoenixville, Pa.
Lotsis was having a career year in 2020, leading the Hoyas with a .343 batting average, four home runs and 13 RBIs. His 23 hits and four homers led the entire BIG EAST. For his career, Lotsis batted .292 in 58 games with eight home runs and 21 RBIs.
 

 
Will Salomon, OF – Greenwich, Conn.
Salomon appeared in seven games this year with five starts, batting .235 with three RBIs. He had two hits and drove in two runs on Feb. 22 at Davidson. In 30 career games, Salomon finished with 10 hits, a double, home run and seven RBIs.
 

 
John Simourian, Utility – Andover, Mass.
Simourian, better known as Sumo, was second on the Hoyas with a .280 batting average in 15 games this season. Battling injuries his entire career, Simourian appeared in 71 games, batting .258 with a HR, four doubles and 24 RBIs while registering a .338 OBP.
