WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's Men's Lacrosse Head Coach Kevin Warne has announced the team captains for the 2021 campaign. Graduate student Jake Carraway and senior Gibson Smith will lead the Hoyas on the field this coming season.
 
"I am very excited that the 2021 team has selected Gibby and Jake as team captains this year," Warne said. "They understand the blueprint of our program and have experienced success, both on and off the field. They are more than ready to use those experiences to lead this team as we navigate through this unique season."
 
Jake Carraway, Gr., A, Annapolis, Md.

•    2021 Inside Lacrosse Preseason BIG EAST Player of the Year.
•    2021 Inside Lacrosse Preseason Third Team Media All-American.

•    Led the Hoyas with 34 points (23G, 11A) in 2020, leading the BIG EAST in points per game (5.67) and goals per game (3.83).
•    Became just the third player in program history with at least 200 career points.
•    Third place all-time at Georgetown in career points (214).
•    Tied for second all-time on the Hilltop in career goals (144).

Georgetown opens the 2021 season on the road at No.16/18 Villanova on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Hoyas open the season ranked No. 8 in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Poll and No. 9 in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll.
