Box Score WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's soccer team tied Princeton Sunday afternoon at Shaw Field. The Hoyas and the Tigers were pushed into overtime to get the final result of 1-1 after an eventful 110 minutes of play.
Head Coach Dave Nolan
"This was another very tough game for us. Princeton is a very good team, well coached, athletic and with some impact players that would grace any program in the country. It was a real battle and both teams went toe to toe for the whole game. I felt that they scored against the run of play a bit and it deflated us. However, credit to our girls for once again finding a way to even it up.
Bar one or two moments, the game was played mostly between the 18's and it was certainly going to take something special to win it.They had a glorious chance to win it at the end, but Eliza Turner made an incredible last-gasp tackle to save the day for us.
All in all I cannot say we deserved more today and know the girls are a little disappointed with some results but we have two huge games coming up this week: WVU on Thursday and home to Rutgers on Sunday. We have to prepare for them now."
