WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's Sheehan Stanwick Burch was honored at a Hall of Fame ceremony after being inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in May of 2021. Stanwick is the second inductee from Georgetown and joins former men's lacrosse coach Dave Urick who was inducted in 1998.
The four-time All-American earned first team honors in both 2000 and 2001 as well as second team honors in 1999, and third team honors in 1998. She was awarded both BIG EAST and NCAA Attacker of the Year in 2001 and was a finalist for the Tewaaraton Award for her outstanding career.
At Georgetown, the attacker was a three-time team MVP and currently still holds the program records in goals scored (232) and totals points (330). She scored at least 50 goals in each of her four seasons, and her 75 goals, 40 assists, and 115 points continue to rank as single-season records for the Hoyas.
Stanwick Burch helped the Hoyas achieve a program record for wins while making an appearance in the national championship in 2001.
Away from Georgetown, Stanwick Burch spent three years as a member of the U.S. Women's Elite Team (2000-2002) and two years on the U.S. Women's Developmental Team (1998-1999). Along with being named to Georgetown's Hall of Fame, she has previously been inducted to both the USA Lacrosse Greater Baltimore Chapter Hall of Fame (2012) and the USA Lacrosse Potomac Chapter Hall of Fame (2015).
