WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team wraps up a four-match homestand with a pair of BIG EAST contests at McDonough Arena this weekend. Hoyas welcome UConn to the Hilltop on Friday before taking on Providence on Saturday.

About the Hoyas
- Georgetown (4-17, 2-8 BIG EAST) is coming off a pair of home losses in league play. The Hoyas dropped a five-set marathon to Xavier before losing 3-0 to No. 18 Creighton.
- Mary Grace Goyena leads the Hoyas with 3.09 kills per set while Giselle Williams and Ruth Kayongo add 2.31 and 2.11 kps, respectively.
- Emma Plutnicki has gotten the nod as the primary setter in the last eight matches and averages 7.49 assists per set.
- Defensively, four Hoyas average at least two digs a frame led by Karis Park with 4.15 digs per set. Plutnicki and Jessica Cusi add 2.29 and 2.12 dps, respectively, while Goyena are good for 2.04 dps.
- At the net, Chanelle Smith averages 1.03 blocks per set while Brennan Wilhite adds 0.85 bps.
Scouting UConn
- Friday's action against the Huskies is set for 5 p.m.
- UConn is 11-10 on the season, 5-5 in BIG EAST play, and is coming off of a midweek win over Providence and a victory against Butler, both at home.
- Caylee Parker leads the Huskies with 3.32 kills per set while Jasmine Davis adds 2.85 kps.
- Madi Whitmire paces the offense with 9.82 aps.
- Defensively, Karly Berkland anchors the back row with 3.82 digs per set. Kennadie Jake-Turner is the top threat at the net with 0.95 bps.
- Friday will be a rematch of an earlier season 3-0 victory by UConn in the Nutmeg State on October 15. Wilhite led the Hoyas with six kills in the loss while Davis had 14 kills in the win.
Scouting Providence
- Saturday's match with the Friars has been moved to 2 p.m. to accommodate changes in PC's travel availability.
- Providence is 10-12 on the season and 2-8 in BIG EAST play. The Friars play at Villanova on Friday night before coming to the Nation's Capital.
- Emma Nelson leads PC with 2.60 kills per set while Brielle Mullally and Shaliyah Rhoden add 2.55 and 2.48 kps, respectively.
- Sammie Ruggles and Mullally combine for 9.14 assists a frame with Ruggles leading the way with 5.95 aps.
- Defensively, Taylor Mackenzie averages 4.67 digs a set while Sasha Rudich and Kayla Grant's 0.86 and 0.85 bps, respectively, are tops at the net.
- Georgetown and Providence went the distance in Rhode Island earlier this year on October 14 with the Friars winning 3-2. Goyena led the Hoyas with 16 kills while Mullally paced Providence with a match-high 22.

Following the weekend's matches, the Hoyas head to the Midwest next weekend to face Marquette and DePaul to kick off the November slate.
