WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's lacrosse team was picked to finish third in the BIG EAST Conference by the league's coaches in the 2022 preseason poll released Thursday. Additionally, sophomore attacker Kylie Hazen was unanimously named Preseason All-BIG EAST and senior midfielder Annabelle Albert was named Preseason All-BIG EAST.
Georgetown earned 17 points from the league's six head coaches to sit in third place behind the University of Denver with 25 points and five first place votes and UConn with 21 votes and one first place vote. Villanova claimed fourth with 13 points, followed by Marquette in fifth with nine and Butler rounded out the poll in sixth.
The Hoyas will open the 2022 campaign on Saturday, February 12th as the squad travels up the road to American University for a 1 p.m. matchup with the Eagles.

The sophomore attacker earned unanimous honors from the league's coaches.

Hazen appeared in 16 games starting in all 16 contests a season ago.

She managed to be the Hoyas' top goal scorer with 33 goals, second in total assists with 12 and the leading point scorer with 45 points.

Last year, she was honored as the All-BIG EAST Rookie of the Year honoree and was also a First Team All-BIG EAST selection.

After the conclusion of last season, Hazen was named the Sheehan Stanwick Rookie of the Year for her performances as a freshman in the 2021 season.
Annabelle Albert

Albert played in all 16 games for the Hoyas and started in nine of them

Last season, she was the fourth highest goal scorer for the Hoyas scoring 22 goals.

Albert was also the fourth highest in total points with 26 while also recording seven caused turnovers.

Following a big performance against Delaware, Albert was named BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on March 8 after scoring three goals with one assist in the win.
