Hoyas Announce Time Change for Saturday Showdown with Colonials

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women's lacrosse team will host George Washington in a nonconference matchup at Cooper Field on Saturday afternoon. The opening draw is scheduled for 4 p.m. The time was changed to 4 p.m. due to inclement weather in the District. The Hoyas are currently 2-3 on the season and are coming off a tough 16-6 home defeat to the ninth-ranked Loyola Greyhounds.

About the Hoyas
  • The Hoyas currently hold a 1-2 home record as they fell to the then-17th ranked Rutgers Scarlet Knights and the ninth-ranked Loyola Greyhounds, but defeated the Delaware Blue Hens. 
  • The Blue & Gray went down early against Loyola as it finished the first half down 12-2. The second half saw Georgetown make a comeback but it was not enough as Loyola came out on top 16-6.
  • GU was outshot 29-24 by Loyola and committed 11 turnovers.
  • Ali Diamond leads the squad with 15 points on nine goals and six assists, while four Hoyas are tied for being the top goal scorer with nine.
  • LizaBanks Campagna paces the Georgetown defensive effort as she has 38 draw controls with three caused turnovers. Emma Driggs has 22 draw controls while Jordyn Sabourin has 10, and Melissa Massimino adds seven draw controls to go along with eight caused turnovers 
About the Colonials 
  • George Washington is 1-4 on the season as they have only been able to defeat American University in a home contest (11-9).
  • The Colonials are coming off a 12-8 home loss against Gardner Webb in their last contest. 
  • George Washington trails opponents 65-34 in total goals scored vs. goals allowed in addition to trailing 24-12 in assists.
  • Tori Hampton paces the offensive attack with five goals and one assist for six points. Emily Mowbray has also recorded six points on the season by way of four goals and two assists. 
  • Kendall Lambert leads the Colonials defensive efforts as she has seven caused turnovers and one draw control.
