WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women's lacrosse team cruised to the 21-5 victory on the road against the George Mason Patriots on Wednesday night. With the win the Hoyas improve to 4-3, while the Patriots move to 1-6.

How it Happened

• The Hoyas opened the scoring with four straight goals from Ali Diamond, two from Annabelle Albert and a free-position goal from Mary Pagano to take a 4-0 lead. Georgetown controlled the opening quarter by scoring a total of eight goals to make the score 8-2.

• The second quarter saw Lily Tardif score three goals in the quarter to secure her first hat trick of the season. Diamond and Tatum Geist were also able to find the back of the net. Emma Driggs and Ellie Kiernan both tallied multiple draw controls as Driggs had three and Kiernan had two. The Blue & Gray were able to connect on five of their 11 total shots in the quarter to make it 13-4 at the break.

• The third quarter started with a goal from the Patriots but the Hoyas were able to respond in less than two minutes when Diamond scored her third goal of the game. Hazen, Emma Gebhardt and Mary Pagano were all able to tally goals in the third quarter to extend the lead to 15-5 entering the fourth. 

• In the final quarter, The Hoyas were able to shut out the Patriots and coast to the 21-5 win.

Of Note

• Four different Hoyas were able to record hat tricks, eight were able to tally multiple goals and nine found the back of the net in the victory.

• GU outshot George Mason 40-15 and led 6-2 in assists.

• The Blue & Gray defense was able to force six turnovers by way of six different Hoyas. 

• In the cage, Emily Gaven tallied six saves on a .545 save percentage in the win.
