WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women's lacrosse team fell 10-7 to the University of Pennsylvania Quakers at Cooper Field on Saturday afternoon. With the loss the Hoyas fall to 4-4, while the Quakers improve to 3-4.

How it Happened

• The Quakers opened the game on a 2-0 run and were able to hold the Hoyas scoreless with their stout defense in the first quarter. 

• Annabelle Albert and Erin Bakes were able to tally goals in the second quarter to get the Hoyas on the board. Penn was able to outscore the Hoyas by a 6-2 margin to make the score 8-2 going into halftime.

• After halftime, the third quarter would see a battle between the two sides as each side would trade goals to knot the score at two a piece for the quarter. Jordyn Sabourin would find the back of the net and Bakes would score her second goal of the game. 

• The final quarter saw the Hoyas go on a run to try and erase the six goal deficit. The Hoyas would outscore the Quakers 3-0 in the fourth quarter but ultimately fell by a final score of 10-7.

Of Note

• Bakes and Sabourin both recorded two goals on the day.

• Ali Diamond, Emma Gebhardt and Annablle Albert also found the back of the net. 

• Both Melissa Massimino and Mary Pagano were able to tally three caused turnovers while LizaBanks Campagna won six draw controls. 

• Goalkeeper Emily Gaven was able to record 10 saves in the home contest. 

• GU outshot Penn 35-30 but trailed 11-10 in draw controls.
