Box Score WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women's lacrosse team defeated the Butler Bulldogs 17-7 to seal its second-consecutive BIG EAST conference win of the season. With the win the Hoyas improve to 7-6, while the Bulldogs fall to 6-6.
How it Happened

The Hoyas opened the game by going on a 6-0 scoring run by way of four different Hoyas finding the back of the net. Mary Pagano recorded a hat trick in the quarter. Butler scored their first goal at the 49 second mark to set the score at 6-1.

The second quarter began with a quick goal from Emma Gebhardt to set the score at 7-1 at the 13:13 mark. The Hoyas continued their offensive momentum by scoring four more goals in the quarter including a hat trick by Erin Bakes.

Butler opened the scoring in the second half as they found the back of the net at the 13:43 mark. Georgetown went on to outscore Butler 5-4 in the third quarter to set the score at 16-6 entering the fourth.

The Hoyas held on for the 17-7 victory.

Bakes recorded five goals on the day, while Pagano tallied four and Jordyn Sabourin had three.

Ali Diamond tallied five points on one goal and four assists.

LizaBanks Campagna recorded nine draw controls in the contest, while Sabourin had seven and Ellie Kiernan caused three turnovers.

GU outshot Butler 34-30 and led 18-9 in draw controls.
