WASHINGTON – Georgetown University sophomore outside hitter
Mary Grace Goyena was named the BIG EAST Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. Goyena led the Hoyas to a 2-1 record on the week and the tournament championship at the Dig the District Invitational.

- Averaged 4.67 kills and 1.42 digs per set with eight blocks and four service aces
- Led Georgetown to a 2-1 record on the week and the Tournament Title at the Dig the District Invitational
- Named MVP of the Dig the District Invitational
- Tallied 16 kills with eight digs in a 3-1 setback to Rider
- Recorded a career-high 29 kills to go with eight digs and four blocks in a five-set win over Binghamton for GU's first win of the season.
- Her 29 kills are most for any BIG EAST player in a match this season.
- Closed out the weekend with 11 kills and three service aces in a 3-0 win over GW to clinch the tournament championship
- Goyena is the first Hoya to earn BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors since Symone Speech on September 18, 2018
The Hoyas return to action this weekend and head west to face UC Santa Barbara for a pair of matches in California.
