Hoyas Finish Second and Fourth at Paul Short Run

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's cross country team earned a second-place finish and the men's team earned a fourth-place finish at the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on Friday. The No. 18 women's side earned 67 points in the 6,000-meter run en route to its third runner-up mark of the season. The No. 17 men's squad totaled 138 points in the 8,000-meter run, finishing behind No. 13 North Carolina, Villanova and Utah State.

ON THE RECORD
"I'm pleased with today's performance. We came out too conservatively and left ourselves too much room to make up at the end. The goal for this meet was to execute a tough team race and have as small a 1-5 spread as possible. We had a 12 second spread which is very good. This time of year, I look for toughness and competitiveness and we were great in those areas. We have to clean up our tactics but that will come as the season goes on. Adding back in our number top runner Parker Stokes will also help tremendously" – Head Men's Cross Country Coach Brandon Bonsey

"This was a solid step forward for the team in managing a large field. Our front 4 of Donahue, Corman, Scrimgeour and Jensen did a great job of being patient and running at a high level the whole way, and our next 6 made some progress to celebrate and build towards October." – Cross Country/Track & Field Assistant Coach Mitchell Baker
